Specimen Requirements and Collection

Specimen is best collected a few hours after the patient has retired (10-11pm), or early in the morning before a bowel movement or bath.

Cellulose Tape Preparation from skin of the perianal area - Press tape around rectal area and then smooth out tape on slide.

Place slide into container and transport to the Lab as soon as possible.
